100 Words Contest: 7th Grade Memorial Day Ceremony

Date: Friday, May 22, 2015
Time: 1:15pm – 2:40 pm
Place: CMS Theater
Audience: Seventh grade students
Guests from all four branches of the armed services will be present for our assembly.
For the past eight years, CMS 7th graders have reflected on the meaning of Memorial Day. Now, it is your turn. Using words, explain your personal understanding of this statement:
“All gave some, but some gave all.”
Write a poem, tell a story, or offer your own interpretation of the statement: “All gave some, but some gave all.” Focus your thoughts; you are limited to 100 words or less.
Check your work for spelling and grammar before submitting your final typed writing to your social studies teacher or your language arts teacher as well as Dr. McLelland-Crawley.

Please…do not make up a story. The best writing will be chosen by Dr. McLelland-Crawley; the selected seventh grade authors share (read) their writing during the 7th grade assembly on May 22. Family members as well as community dignitaries may join us for this assembly.
